You must stop taking Aspirin 7 days prior to a procedure and
Anti-Imflammatory medications 3-5 days prior to a procedure.
If you are currently taking Coumadin, you must obtain permission from the prescribing doctor to stop the medication 5 days prior to your procedure. You will be required to have a blood test. A PT/INR the day of your procedure.
If you are taking Plavix, you must obtain permission from the prescribing doctor to stop the medication 7 days prior to your procedure.
Some patients due to certain health problems are taking Aspirin on a daily basis. Depending on your health issues, it may be necessary for you to obtain permission from your prescribing doctor to stop the medication.
If you are unsure if your are taking any of these medications, please all the prescribing doctor and ask them to help you.
